• Guitar String Jewelry?

  ABOUT THE JEWELRY:
  Elyse wanted to have a special kind of merchandise for her fans. It had to be sustainable, and it had to be really neat!

  Years ago, Elyse's best friend gave her a bracelet made of ball ends from guitar and bass strings. It was a special gift that she always loved. It was musical. It was handmade. It was recycled... It was inspiration for Elyse's unique line of Guitar String Jewelry!

  Each piece is handcrafted in Fort Collins, Colorado by Elyse. Here's what makes it special.

  Strings:
  Elyse decided to make her line of jewelry as sustainable as possible by only using pre-played strings which would otherwise be thrown away. She thinks it also gives the jewelry more personality and musicality! Some of the strings are from Elyse's own guitar! The rest are collected from the a local music store, Spotlight Music http://www.spotlightmusicstore.com/

  Beads:
  Elyse uses only fair trade and found beads. Fairly traded beads ensure that the bead makers get a fair wage which allows them to house, feed and clothe their families. Found beads are taken from other pieces of second hand jewelry.

  Findings:
  Findings are connecting pieces like clasps, rings, ear wires. Because up-cycled findings would have an unknown metal composition and could contain lead, Elyse decided to use new gold and silver plated findings. All of the ear wires are hypoallergenic.

  Packaging:
  No new packing materials! Elyse jewelry comes in a clear reclaimed CD case and is shipped in reused packing materials.
